As I hope you really, really know, we postponed until 2021 due to coronavirus, so please make sure you don’t wander into the Fort Worth Convention Center this weekend as we’re not there.

More than that, I just want to say thank you. Thank you for all your continued energy and support. And thank you for uniting as a community in this difficult time. We’ve seen such amazing creativity and positivity from fans across Texas – and around the world – all finding new digital ways to come together into a family.

Keep healthy. Keep safe. And the entire Anime Frontier family is excited to see you May 14-16, 2021.


As a consequence of the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, Anime Frontier, originally scheduled to take place on May 8-10, 2020, will now be held at the Fort Worth Convention Center on May 14-16, 2021.

The Anime Frontier Team will be in touch directly with all attendees, exhibitors, sponsors and partners in relation to this postponement and to answer any questions.

There will be further communication to these groups over the coming days and weeks as we aim to facilitate a smooth transition to the new dates for everyone involved.

Please be assured that we are continuing to closely monitor the latest public health and government advice with regard to COVID-19 (coronavirus) and are carefully adhering to their directions. Our absolute priority is to safeguard the health and welfare of all those involved in our events.

Hello, this is Peter Tatara, Founder and Show Director of Anime Frontier. I want to reach out today on the status of our inaugural event. After a tremendous number of conversations with the City of Fort Worth, Fort Worth Convention Center, and anime publishers and partners spanning from Texas to Japan, we’ve jointly made the decision to postpone the launch of Anime Frontier this year. We will now celebrate the convention for the first time on May 14-16, 2021.

Our goal when creating Anime Frontier was to bring anime fans, publishers, and Japanese creators together in Texas like never before, and we’ve been absolutely amazed by the excitement from fans across Texas and honored by the support throughout the anime industry.

This goal remains. However, it’s just going to take a little longer.

After immense deliberation, we feel postponing until 2021 is the only right decision we can make, as we look to create an inviting, exciting, safe, and healthy celebration for Texas’s anime community – and there’s no way to achieve this right now without putting this same community at risk of the COVID-19 coronavirus.

We’re reaching out to all attendees and exhibitors with more details, but please know everyone will have the ability to move their tickets or booths to May 2021 or have them refunded. And if you booked in our hotel block, your reservation will be cancelled automatically without any charges.

We’ve been at work on Anime Frontier for the past year and were deeply excited to create something new together with you, and our pledge now is to take the next year to build an even bigger celebration of Japanese pop culture together with the creators and companies at the heart of the anime and manga worlds.

Lastly, a massive thank you to our friends at the Fort Worth Convention Center, Visit Fort Worth, Crunchyroll, Aniplex of America Inc, Animate, Bluefin, GKIDS, HIDIVE, Kodansha Comics, Lantis, Sentai Filmworks, SUNRISE, Vertical, Inc, and VIZ Media – and to everyone we’ve met bringing Anime Frontier to life.

Hello, this is Peter Tatara, Founder and Show Director of Anime Frontier. I’d like to take a moment to publicly provide an update around the coronavirus issue evolving across the US.

Anime Frontier is very aware of the COVID-19 coronavirus, and our team is actively speaking with local officials. We’re discussing all possibilities with the Fort Worth Convention Center, and we are working on information we can share shortly.

We only want to create a safe, healthy, and fun community, and as soon as we have more details, we will share them with you.


As of now, our U.S. events are taking place as scheduled.

Ensuring the safety of all customers and attendees to our events is our top priority. We are following the suggestions of the U.S. and state public health guidelines as they are developing with regards to the COVID-19 virus.  We support the stance taken by SISO and remain committed to delivering our events in a safe environment.

As the COVID-19 situation is evolving, we strongly advise that all exhibitors and visitors review the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) travel health notices related to this outbreak. These notices will be updated as more information becomes available and if there are any changes with entry to the U.S. they can be found here –

Exhibitors and Visitors who are not impacted by the travel restrictions are able to attend the event. Please note, the travel advisories do vary by country so please be sure to review the latest travel advisories and U.S. entry policies for your region. The U.S. and several countries currently has imposed travel restrictions from mainland China which will be enforced.

As a precaution, we are implementing a range of additional hygiene measures at the event.

  • Increased cleaning and disinfection program across all high-volume touchpoints
  • Onsite medical support
  • Availability of sanitizing and disinfection materials for public use
  • Awareness and training to all staff on standard personal preventative measures
  • Advice to exhibitors on implementing effective cleaning and disinfection of booths, offices along
    with guidance on personal hygiene measures and common preventive behavior
  • Installing signage at the event reminding attendees of hygiene recommendations

Our team will continue to monitor the situation and we will follow-up with customers as needed if the advisories change.  If you have questions regarding your participation please contact our customer service team.

As a precaution, we are implementing a range of additional hygiene measures including increased hand sanitizing stations, increased cleaning of high-volume areas, increased onsite medical staff, and increased hygiene guideline signage.

We will continue to follow CDC, US, and state public health recommendations and will post updates if advisories change.

Should the COVID-19 situation evolve and Anime Frontier be cancelled, tickets would be refunded.
