Anime Frontier to host a specialized space for children dubbed Anime Frontier Jr.

Fort Worth, Texas (Oct. 29, 2024) –  Anime Frontier presented by Crunchyroll, one of the largest anime conventions in North Texas, is opening its doors to the youngest of the fandom with the inaugural Anime Frontier Jr.. With programming that encourages young convention-goers’ creativity, it will double as a space for parents/guardians to recharge from the main programming.

“We’re so happy to make this event even more accessible for families and young fans. Anime has the unique ability to inspire and unite people of all ages, and by offering free kids’ tickets for Sunday, we’re excited to welcome a new generation of fans to experience the magic of anime together with their families,” said Anime Frontier show director MK Goodwin.

Within this interactive zone on the Show Floor, fans will have access to many fun-filled activities designed to help kids unleash their inner creativity. Event highlights include:

  • Meet and Greet with Annie, Anime Frontier’s Mascot: Families have the opportunity for a personal meet and greet with Annie and enjoy a creative coloring activity. Annie will color alongside the littlest cowpokes and talk about her best pal in the whole of Texas, Ruckus. The coloring station will be open during the entirety of Anime Frontier.
  • Crafts with the University of North Texas’ MEKA Club: Join the UNT Anime Club, Mu Epsilon Kappa, for an anime-inspired craft session. Families will learn techniques for drawing anime characters and tips and tricks for making their very own origami creations.
  • Kawaii Storytime with the McKinney Public Library: Members from the McKinney Public Library staff will host an entertaining storytime featuring some of the most loveable anime protagonists. Then create your very own kawaii character.
  • Reading Round-Up and Craft with Marci Peschke: Author Marci Peschke will host a storytime featuring her book, Rodeo Queen, and lead families in making a take-home craft their choice.
  • BRIO Train Free Play: The 400 sq ft. section will host an official BRIO train set, encouraging families to enjoy a free play opportunity any time during Anime Frontier.
  • Phoenix Flyer, Kamehameha Wave, and Ninja Course with the Fort Worth YMCA: The YMCA booth will be loaded with three different activities for families to take part in. Build a phoenix flyer and learn about the mechanics of gliders. Attendees can then practice their best Kamehameha Wave (Dragon Ball Z). Lastly, kids will be able to get all of their energy out at the YMCA’s ninja agility course.
